Week one for me was December 1 - December 7. This has been a fun project so far. There is no pressure and I don't feel the need to constantly take pictures. It feels more relaxed and easy. That way I can enjoy this time a little more.
Day 1 - We were on the road home from spending Thanksgiving with my family in Jacksonville. So we stopped to grab a Starbucks holiday drink. For him it was a Caramel Apple Spice and for me a Caramel Brulee. I still don't really know how I feel about the brulee, but it was fun to get in the spirit. It was chilly and we really enjoyed the warmth on the way home.
Inbetween day 1 and day 2 I added just a blank page, which I will later fill with journaling and gifts that we received.
On day 2, we picked out our tree, brought it home, and then put it up. We didn't get all of the lights up but we were still able to enjoy it.
You may notice that day 3 is mysteriously missing, well that is a funny story. We got home late on the 2nd so we didn't want to get all of the lights down from the attic. We would just get them down the day after. On the 3rd, we went to get the rest of the lights down and we couldn't find them. We must have thrown them out! Whoops. We were too lazy to run to the store. So we put our photo wall up.
Because day 3 is really not Christmas inspired, we are not adding it. Skipping right over it.
Day 4 we finally got the tree fully decorated! We love the way it looks this year. Kyle doesn't like a bunch of ornaments, so we went light. It is US.
On the back of the tree, we added two pictures that we are using on our Christmas cards this year. We kind of love them.
Day 5 was simple, we wrapped gifts while watching Doctor Who. Simple, fun, and of course together. Just the way the holidays should be. O the front and back of day 5, I added some wrapping paper that we are using this year. Mostly strips, polka dots, black and white, and kraft paper.
Day 6 was a pizza date with my main man. We went to a cute place in our town that we love. Yes, we know they can't spell. We still love them. We got to wrapping gifts again after dinner.
Day 7 was Saturday, and we had our work holiday party. Oh... my... gosh... we had so much fun playing in the photo booth with my co workers, and we even won a prize! Season passes to Disney here we go. We had a great night, and a wonderful week.
We were truly counting out blessings this week. Kyle started work last week, and it was a great move for our little family. But this week, just kind of blew us away. I got great news at work, we won a great prize, we are working on an office makeover and Christmas is coming.
*This project is far from complete. The front page (which was seen here) will have photo grids on both sides of the burlap when complete. The inside cover will also have photo grids of pictures from our month. I am also working on a table of context for all of the days. I will show a complete cover to cover once it is fully complete. For now, I am just showing you glimpses each week.
