Life Laid Bear

5 and 2

IMG_3313

This past weekend we threw our little ones a birthday party. Tillbear turned 5 and lukebear turned 2. We have done this for them for the past two years, and it has been such a cute tradition. It is always a wonderful day filled with so much laughter and friends. Human and pups alike.

The pups have their own table. It is the one time every year that they can eat right off of the table and we think it is the funniest thing. It is a whole area devoted just to their food. We made lots of healthy treats for their friends to snack on.

All of the pups took full advantage of the puppy table. Till decided she would post up there the rest of the party. Just so no one else could get food without hearing a tiny growl from above. She is ridiculously adorable and equal parts selfish. We did not teach her to share well.

It was only right that we made some peanut butter bear treats for the party. They were so easy and such a hit. After all of the running around and snacking, we sang happy birthday and had cake, Puppy Paws, and gift time. It was truly the sweetest day spent with our closest friends and family.

Just incase you didn't get enough cuteness here are a couple of the party guests.

Sundays are for the dogs

IMG_2835

Seriously, Sundays are my favorite. You may also see me saying that about Saturdays, but really Sundays take the cake. They are the days that we spend a little bit longer getting out of bed. That day that we linger a little bit longer getting out of the shower. We spend a little more time reading, and drinking coffee. The pups love these days. We love these days.

So today, we are doing a whole lot of nothing except spending time snuggled with the pups taking cat naps or in our case dog naps (but you get the point right)

* In other news, I am starting to get back to business as usual in my blogging world. We will officially have a working office this coming weekend. I couldn't be happier. We also have a wedding this Friday that we have been looking forward to since July. I talked about it here and here. There will be some minor changes around here in the next coming weeks. Please excuse the mess while I am updating.

December goals

IMG_2436

(This is about the best family photo of us three we could get)

We are back from an amazing trip to see my parents for Thanksgiving. We were gone for 4 nights and it still seems like we needed another two weeks. We did a ridiculous amount of Christmas shopping, eating and laughing. As usual, my parents are just great to be around and I am so thankful for that. I can't wait until Christmas when they come to visit.

Now that Thanksgiving is over, we are full steam ahead for the Christmas season. This season will be filled with many firsts as we haven't had many chances to start new traditions in our last two married years together. Like most newlyweds, It was filled with trying to be with both sides of the family around the holidays. Now that we have this down, this year we are making it a priority to start some of our own traditions. We couldn't be more excited.

Our goals are simple and I hope to have them all checked off by January 1.

- Find a perfect for us tree. This will be our first year with a real tree.

- Finish up the Christmas shopping.

- Spend more quality time together. No excuses.

- Decorate the house. We were seriously lacking last year.

- Make an amazing Christmas dinner for both families.

- Make someones day with genuine kindness.

- Pay it forward.

What's on your December list?

around here

IMG_1368IMG_1332

This past week we went to the opening of a friend's new restaurant. It was absolutely fantastic and boy am I excited about having a new place in town to get a great pizza.

This little one has been looking pretty cute these days, mostly when she wants something off of my plate. But I can't complain.

I ask him to take a picture with me, and this is what I get. I am one lucky girl, right?

Over the weekend, I went on a girls trip to the beach. And someone had the bright idea to include a slip in slide with no water. We took it down to the beach with high hopes that it would work if we slid into the water. Let's just say I come home with some bruises and sore bones.

This is pretty much all I got from these guys so far this week. They have been a sleepy bunch. I will blame it on the constant rain we have been oh so happy to get lately. Rain, can't you see... you are making my pups lazy and sleepy. Get with the picture, Rain, it is still summer over here.

First meetings

IMG_1266

We were a little scared to let the "kids" meet the new member of our growing family. Well duh, she is about 1:10 of their size, and I'm sure surprisingly appetizing to a dog. It went pretty well, and of course I had to to take the opportunity to grab some pictures.

Tilly did so good. She didn't even let on that she probably wanted to chow down on some pretty lizard.

Kisses!

This guy was a different story. He wanted to devour this little one. Drool included.

All in all, I was pretty proud pet parent. No tails went missing...so that means it was a good day. Right?

lizards get baths? What?

IMG_1258

Who would have guessed that lizards needed baths....every other day. I had no earthly idea when I signed up for this gig that I would have a lizard in my sink. That is a no no. But oh look how cute he is....okay maybe if I just bleach it afterwards. Kyle is the expert, and he told me that the lizards don't actually drink water. They absorb it through their skin while taking a soak.

Here is our little girl. Getting her first bath.
