We do not yet have children and to be honest I think it is because we are very selfish with our time. BUT, we do have two pups and if you know us....they are definitely our kids.
Tilly is the oldest and she has been with us a little over four years. And let me tell you, that has been the best four years. She lights up our lives and everyone around her too! If I had a dollar for every time someone said " we are going to stuff her in our suitcase, and take her with us". I am also a little embarrassed to say that she has a bigger wardrobe than many humans, let alone dogs. She is fiercely loyal and can be described best as a lapdog. She is all of four pounds and we love her to pieces.
Kyle told me for a little over a year that he wanted another dog. Really he just didn't want to walk Tilly with her sweaters and pink leash around by himself, so we did the research and Kyle finally decided on an Australian Cattle Dog. I was visiting family in Jacksonville, when Kyle called and said you need to go to this address. I found our new puppy. It was meant to be!
My mom and I drove right over and picked up a very little Mr. Lucas. He is now one, and as funny as a puppy can be. He is by far the prettiest ACD I have ever seen, I am not biased of course. Just look at that face! He is our marshmellow-filled land shark, and we are pretty fond of him.
Together, they make up the best part of our home and our hearts. I cannot imagine our lives without them in it.
